and a few wet snowflakes. howard county, parts of southern montgomery, and into western fairfax. these areas of pink and gray. elsewhere, the green areas with light rain down 95 from prince william to fredericksburg, much of southern maryland and across the bay. on the eastern shore, all rain. temperatures above freezing. road temperatures around 40 degrees, and the air temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40 degdrees. we're going to stay above freezing throughout the day. all of this coming from the coastal storm. as we go forward here, some snow in this area of lavender, eastern shore and new york city during the morning and afternoon hours. we'll have the changeover occur on the eastern shore. perhaps around 11:00, noon or so. and may swing enough moisture far west for us to get accumulating snow here too. then we'll pull out as the storm moves away tomorrow and a beautiful pattern into the weekend. for our region, hour by hour today, umbrella needed with a few sprinkles, light rain and snow. from the afternoon during the evening hours, we'll be above freezing. we're going to have it m

south of town. heavier rains north and northwest of town this morning from western fairfax through montgomery county, up into areas of caroll county, south of westminster but north of mount airy. frederick on the eastern side of the county seeing more moderate showers. things begin to break up as you go up 70. back in loudoun county gean in fairfax, ashburn, chantilly seeing some of the more had rat showers -- more moderate showers. showery back to the south and west. again southern maryland you've seen a lot less than the rest of us. 49 now at the pax river naval air station. 40 in hagerstown. it's 45 in culpeper. gaithersburg 41. but windchills are running in the mid- to upper 30s in many areas with the dampness. outside on our michael & son weather camera, you see just the dreary looking start to the day with a temperature of 45 and currently a north wind at again, gusting close to 30 although the breezes will come down a little bit as the day wears on. so the forecast today about 52 or so with some sun this afternoon. yellow alert for the morning showers which will slow your co

to the 20s parts of the shenandoah valley and the blue ridge, parts of western maryland and west virginia. only the upper 30s now. prince george's, montgomery, arlington, fairfax counties, much of southern maryland, northern neck, eastern shore generally above freezing, but it's in the 40s. let's take a look at what may be happening here for the rest of the afternoon. ought to get sunshine breaking out and during the day on tuesday for election day, sun in the morning and get some clouds beginning to move in tuesday night as a coastal storm begins to develop. all this area in green and orange, this is rain. it's going to be coming into colder air. this area in blue, this is potential snow. this is as of wednesday late afternoon into wednesday night. we could have that rain changing to snow in our region. rain and wind right along the atlantic seaboard all the way up to new york city into new england. the storm is going to track right along the coast, it appears, and move into new england by thursday. by wednesday, we'll dry out. our first snow of the season may be happening wednesday afte

, 40 in great falls, fairfax, 42 in college park and 40 in bowie. tracking the nor'easter, light rain or snow east of town tonight, stays dry in the western suburbs and tomorrow morning's commute will describe as well. dress for the 40s tomorrow because of the wind. our futurecast right about now, we see the rain in baltimore, the snow in southern sections of new jersey and a little bit on the delmarva. it briefly comes back to the west and then by about 11:00 tonight it is gone. then the good news, we clear out pretty fast. tomorrow morning early clouds, but by 8:00 you'll need your sunglasses and by this time tomorrow evening i think we'll be pretty much clear. you need a coat and sunglasses tomorrow. next three days our 9 weather alerts all green, 52 tomorrow, 59 friday and 68 on saturday with sunshine. you know what? it gets better. sunshine on sunday, temperatures around 70. so great weather, couldn't ask for any better weather for the heart walk, ms. brikman and mr. bernstein and ravens home, pretty nice day near 70, showers tuesday and in the 50s wednesday. that's about average

of the mountains of western maryland and parts of west virginia, it's near freezing now. closer to washington. it's in the mid-40s to upper 40s in the nearby suburbs in prince george's, arlington, fairfax, and montgomery counties. much of southern maryland near the bay hovering near 50. for the morning commute, you'll need an umbrella. rainy, chilly, by 6:00 a.m. still hovering in the upper 40s to mid-40s in the north and west. by noontime, all the rain over. should end by 9:00 or 10:00. cloudy and chilly for the lunch hour. winds still blustery, 20 miles an hour out of the north and west. we'll be holding steady in the 40s for the rest of the afternoon and down to near 40 by midnight and down to 30 by dawn tomorrow. by this time tomorrow morning, likely a widespread freeze under a clear sky. lots of sun tomorrow but highs only in the 40s to near 50. average high this time of year 59. we're not going to be anywhere near that for the next several days. cold mornings and chilly afternoons thursday, friday, and saturday. we may have a little disturbance off the atlantic seaboard sunday into monday.
